  I've never run into such a dispicable scam as the one encountered here at North Alabama computer associates. If only Google allowed negative stars! They have ripped my wife off and called her a liar! Allow me to go into detail as to why you should choose a better shop such as gaget doctors, quick fix pc repair or even the long standing DTM computer services. The main point of this would be integrity. This shop is out to make a quick buck on anyone who they can get in the door, while the others are only charging for services rendered. December 6th my wife took a personal laptop in after calling and speaking to Terry who instructed she bring it in for them to give a quote on the screen replacement. She did just that. As she stood speaking to terry and after showing the obviously damaged screen, terry told her he would need a few hours to verify the part number and would call her back with a quote. He did just that was later that evening. The quote was near 200 dollars! This seemed shocking as the part itself is readily available on eBay or through lcdcycle for below 80 dollars. Terry ( the owner) quoted the part at 130 and the labor at 70. She said no thank you and asked when she could pick it up. since they were about to close he said tomorrow... She agreed to return to pick up the laptop. Upon returning terry was out and a second employee told her she owed $45 for diagnosis labor! This was never mentioned when she dropped the laptop off and honestly what was it that they diagnosed? The screen was cracked! Larry had dismanled the laptop before she signed any paper work trying to get at the part number behind the system, and infact had finished removing the two screws from the bezel before she leaves even left the store. They would not return her laptop without her paying for it and since she didn't know the scope of work involved in quoting a screen replacement she reluctantly came back after her pay check was recieved and paid the men. When I heard of this I thought it must be a misunderstanding so I drove in to discuss the issue with Terry the owner. He tried to convince me that they had performed diagnostic labor on the system and were due payment for said labor. I tried to remind him that there was no authorization for them to do said labor and that nothing was signed when the system was dropped off. He and his grinning technician sitting next to him stated that "services were rendered... Sorry." These guys are shiesters and she's ukd not be given your business. I personally will be glad to point you to a better technical support team in the area that will beat their pricing and charge not a thing for a quote, more over, not a dime for a diagnosis.   A few months ago my husband's computer fell to floor and the hard drive died. This was the computer he uses to work from, so it was very important we found out what was wrong and get it fixed. The guys here were super nice and very reasonable. They even had his computer fixed within 24 hours.
